2008 UEFA EURO CUP CHAMPIONS MEDAL

UEFA Euro 2008. Gold Winner's Medal Spain - Repro Medal from the Spanish FA, bronze, gold plated, limited edition. As the UEFA only issued 35 original medals per Team, the Spanish FA was allowed to reproduce the medal but in silver, gold plated and not pure gold! Issued to Spanish assisitants and officials involved in the WC. Size 6cm, (106 grammes)

La Roja defeated Germany 1-0 in the Final match thanks to a goal from Fernando Torres to win their second Euro Cup, and first since the nation's inaugural appearance in 1964. David Villa won the Golden Boot as the tournament's top scorer with four goals, while midfielder Xavi was named Player of the Tournament. It was the beginning of a glorious run for Spain as they would win the 2010 FIFA World Cup and then repeat as Euro Cup champions in 2012.

Apart from the metal composition, the medals are identical in appearance to their original pure gold counterparts, right down to the loop and red ribbon features. The obverse has the UEFA EURO 2008 Austria-Switzerland logo. The reverse has a depiction of the official EURO Cup trophy named after Henri Delanauy,
