Coming up for auction is an interesting and very rare picture book, designed in the form of an album on fine paper with watermarks and glued-in photos; indeed, a Christmas present from Wing Commander Eduard Neumann to his soldiers in the 27th African Fighter Squadron. Druck Gebr. Mann, Berlin. The album has 36 images (photos and illustrations) commemorating the squadron’s time in Libya and Egypt between 1941-42. The most famous member of the squadron was Oblt. Marseille. The three embossed coats of arms on the cover belong to the three groups of the squadron, which arrived in Africa one after the other. 
Very good condition, the cover is just a little rubbed, bumped and foxed. The inside is clean and sound with all of the pictures. See numerous photos for overall condition.
