Two Pen and Ink illustration boards by Alfonso Font, drawn for a comic book adaptation of 'Peter the Whaler' by W H G Kingston.

Font brings alive the story's characters with his fabulous deep ink work. On these pages, Peter has been arrested as a mutineer, the ship he is on ‘The Black Swan’ catches fire and they are rescued by the ship ‘Mary’ where he is cared for by a beautiful girl. The ship arrives in Quebec and Peter helps trade with the Indians but when he returns to the dock his ship has left... this is when he meets the pirate... See the numerous photographs for close ups of action and incredible inking.

The classic story tells of the many adventures of Peter, son of an Irish Vicar who is caught poaching and sent to sea to learn his lesson, ending in many exciting adventures.

Pages from this story have never been offered for private sale before, these are directly from the publisher many years ago.

An extremely rare chance to own some fabulous early work by Font.
