A compact Japanese wooden storage chest (tansu-style) dating from the late Meiji to Taisho period (circa 1890–1920).
Made of solid wood with iron fittings, this piece was originally used as a practical storage chest. The interior is unfinished wood, showing honest signs of age and use, which add to its authentic character and patina.
Due to its modest size, it can be used today as a side table, display stand, or storage furniture in both modern and rustic interiors.
