Kabinet - Hout - Japan (Zonder minimumprijs)
This is a finely crafted Japanese wooden miniature cabinet featuring five drawers, reinforced with decorative black iron fittings. The cabinet showcases a rich reddish-brown lacquered wood grain, characteristic of traditional Japanese storage furniture, and combines both functionality and aesthetic balance.
Such small chests were commonly used for storing personal items such as stationery, seals (hanko), documents, or small valuables. The symmetrical drawer arrangement and iron corner fittings suggest inspiration from traditional tansu design, adapted into a compact, portable size suitable for a desk or interior display.
Based on the materials, construction style, and metal fittings, this piece is estimated to date from the mid to late Showa period (approximately 1960s–1980s). It represents a refined example of practical Japanese craftsmanship designed for everyday use while maintaining visual elegance.
