Yamazaki 18 Year Old
Hier hebben we Suntory’s bekroonde Japanse single malt van Yamazaki, de oudste whiskydistilleerderij van Japan. De single malt werd gelanceerd in 1992, en ongeveer 80% van het vloeistof rijpt in sherryvaten, terwijl de overige whisky jaren heeft doorgebracht in Amerikaanse en Mizunara-eiken vaten. Een absoluut verbluffende samensmelting van fruit, eik en rokerige tonen; het verwondert dan ook niet waarom het zoveel prijzen heeft gewonnen!
Smaakt paragraaf door The Chaps at Master of Malt
Neus
Truffels, dikke bittere marmelade en hars. Bloemstuk en zware Oloroso sherry.
Smaak
Een rijke, bitterzoete smaak met heidestronkjes, sigarettenblad, honing, karamelappeltjes, pruimenwijn en zwarte peper. Een tikje rancio, misschien…
Finish
Lang, fruitig, marmelade-gedreven finish.
