The history of Noritake began with the Morimura Gumi trading business founded by Ichizaemon Morimura in 1876. In 1904, Nippon Toki Gomei Kaisha was established in Noritake, Aichi Prefecture. In 1914, the company completed Japan's first dinner set. Their "Old Noritake" items, known for ornate Art Deco styles, received international recognition.
