La Géométrie Pratique

Published in Paris in 1702 (“M. DCCII”) by the Royal Printer Anisson.

This richly illustrated work on practical geometry, trigonometry, surveying, measurement, perspective and stereometry is famous for its numerous engraved plates depicting:

geometric constructions,

scientific and measuring instruments,

land surveying,

architectural and garden views,

military and engineering subjects,

and views related to Versailles and Trianon.


The set is complete with all engraved plates:

Tome I: 137 plates - 346 pp.

Tome II: 120 plates - 337 pp.


Total: 257 engraved plates.

Beautiful contemporary full leather bindings with raised bands and gilt-decorated spine compartments.

Condition:

bindings worn and rubbed,

loss to spine leather,

corners bumped,

some age-related wear and browning,

interiors generally clean and well preserved,

engravings strong and sharp,

structurally solid.
