Detailed Description: The PEN-EE camera utilizes a selenium photocell for light metering. This metering system relies on a photocell positioned around the lens to detect ambient light intensity and automatically adjusts the exposure parameters accordingly. The selenium photocell senses the surrounding brightness and, via the camera's internal circuitry, calculates the appropriate exposure settings. When lighting conditions are too dim, the internal "little red flag" indicator rises to signal underexposure, at which point the shutter cannot be triggered.

Additionally, the PEN-EES model offers a manual exposure mode, allowing users to manually adjust the shutter speed and aperture size as needed to achieve more precise exposure control. This flexibility ensures that the camera remains fully usable even if the selenium photocell ages or the automatic metering becomes inaccurate.
