"NURTURE"
"Nurture" is the second chapter in a conceptual series exploring human creation, transformation, and the forces that shape life.
If Origin represents the moment of emergence—the passage through pain into existence—Nurture reflects what follows: protection, growth, care, and the invisible structures that allow life to develop.
Constructed from hundreds of individually placed nails driven into painted plywood, the work transforms an industrial material into a language of vulnerability. Every nail was positioned by hand, aligned with a geometric framework developed specifically for this composition. The process required patience, repetition, and precision, turning a simple gesture into a meditative act.
The composition balances between abstraction and recognition.
From a distance, viewers often perceive different forms: a feminine figure, a protective presence, a symbolic mask, or even the face of a bee. These interpretations are not accidental. Throughout nature, nurturing appears through many forms—from motherhood to collective survival. The bee, as one of humanity's oldest symbols of fertility, continuity, and cooperation, echoes the same fundamental idea embodied by the title.
The circular elements at the center evoke nourishment and growth, while the expanding geometry suggests energy radiating outward from a protected core. The lines formed by the nails create movement and tension, leading the eye through the work while simultaneously emphasizing its structural balance.
Light plays an essential role in the experience of the piece. As daylight changes, shadows cast by the nails transform the composition, generating new rhythms and visual layers throughout the day. The artwork is never entirely fixed; it evolves with its environment and rewards repeated observation.
Small variations, drips, and subtle imperfections remain intentionally visible. Rather than concealing the artist's hand, they preserve evidence of the making process. In an era increasingly dominated by digital perfection and artificial generation, these traces affirm the physical reality of creation—the presence of time, effort, and human touch.
The material language of the piece is partially inspired by the radical monochrome experimentation of Bernard Aubertin, while developing its own emotional and symbolic direction centered around tension, primal form, and contemporary human fragility.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tiberiu is a self-taught Romanian contemporary artist based in Bucharest and co-founder of CanisterCrafts, an independent contemporary art studio focused on material experimentation and emotionally driven sculptural compositions.
Coming from a background in digital design and architecture, his artistic practice developed from a growing need to reconnect with physical creation in an increasingly artificial visual world. His works combine wood, industrial materials, relief structures, and handcrafted processes into tactile compositions where imperfection becomes part of the visual language.
Rather than pursuing polished mechanical precision, his approach embraces tension, process, shadow, texture, and transformation — allowing each material to preserve its own personality and evolution over time.
His work often explores themes of emotional pressure, memory, human creation, structural balance, and the fragile relationship between control and imperfection.
