The opera glasses are decorated with genuine mother-of-pearl panels and feature a central focusing mechanism. The mother-of-pearl is complete and in very good condition, with an attractive natural iridescent appearance.
The second object is a small extendable brass monocular telescope or pocket spyglass. It has an elegant cylindrical form and shows an appealing aged patina consistent with its age.
Both objects are unmarked and are believed to be of French origin, dating from approximately 1880–1910.
