Beschrijving van de verkoper
English Fruit with Red Vase is a richly coloured still life that brings together apples, pears and cherries in an abundant arrangement of familiar domestic forms. Set against a deep red ground, the fruit is rendered with warm, expressive brushwork, allowing subtle variations of colour and light to give each form its own presence.
At the centre, a weathered ceramic bowl introduces a contrasting palette of pale grey, turquoise and green, its imperfect surface and painterly marks adding a sense of character and age. A single cherry rests apart from the composition, creating a quiet counterpoint to the abundance of fruit gathered within the bowl.
The deep reds of the background and fruit are balanced by the luminous yellows of the pears and apples, while the restrained turquoise of the bowl provides an unexpected note of coolness. The result is an intimate and atmospheric still life, rooted in the tradition of English domestic painting while retaining a distinctly contemporary sensitivity to colour and texture.

Helen Weller is an oil painter based in the West of England, working across still life, landscape and portraiture. Her paintings are characterised by a lively approach to colour, light and form, capturing the energy and character of the world around her.
Before turning to painting, Helen spent more than three decades working in brand design and CGI, developing a highly precise and detail driven visual practice. She began painting five years ago as a conscious shift away from the control of commercial design, embracing a more instinctive, physical and expressive way of working.
Working primarily in oils for their richness and saturation, Helen is interested in the materiality of paint and the freedom it offers to reinterpret familiar subjects. Her practice balances observation with spontaneity, allowing colour, gesture and texture to play an important role in the finished work.
Helen regularly exhibits across the local art scene in the West of England and remains actively involved in its creative community.
International shipments may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are determined by local authorities and are the responsibility of the buyer.
