Umbral Esmeralda nace del encuentro entre un verde esmeralda profundo y un dorado envejecido, en una superficie donde el color, la materia y la luz se convierten en una misma experiencia.

El verde esmeralda construye una atmósfera envolvente, profunda y serena, mientras que el dorado envejecido aparece de manera contenida, con una luminosidad casi mineral. El dorado no parece simplemente depositado sobre el color: parece emerger desde dentro de la propia materia, como si el paso del tiempo hubiera ido dejando sus huellas sobre la superficie.

En el centro de la composición aparece una franja horizontal de gran densidad que funciona como un verdadero umbral: una línea de transición entre dos estados diferentes de materia y energía. En la parte superior, los trazos curvos generan una sensación de movimiento suspendido; en la inferior, las formas circulares y ondulantes prolongan ese movimiento y aportan profundidad y continuidad.

La textura tiene un protagonismo fundamental. Las incisiones, los surcos y las diferentes intensidades del relieve hacen que la luz se comporte de manera distinta sobre cada zona de la superficie.

Es una obra que cambia muchísimo de un lugar de luz a otro. Con una iluminación frontal y suave puede mostrarse más serena, profunda y contemplativa. Cuando recibe luz lateral o cambiante, el relieve adquiere mucha más presencia y el dorado envejecido comienza a aparecer con una intensidad completamente diferente.

Umbral Esmeralda habla de tiempo, transformación y energía. Es una obra sobre ese instante de transición entre un estado y otro, entre aquello que vemos inmediatamente y aquello que permanece oculto dentro de la materia.

Su presencia es sofisticada y contundente, pero al mismo tiempo serena. No necesita imponerse al espacio: lo transforma poco a poco a medida que cambia la luz que recibe.

RECOMENDACIÓN IMPORTANTE: al recibir la obra, recomiendo abrirla y desembalarla completamente antes de decidir dónde colocarla. Al presentarse enrollada sobre lienzo algodonado, es especialmente importante dejar que la obra se muestre completamente en el espacio donde vaya a instalarse y observarla bajo diferentes condiciones de iluminación antes de elegir su ubicación definitiva.

Emerald Threshold is born from the encounter between deep emerald green and aged gold, creating a surface where colour, material and light become part of the same experience.

The emerald green establishes a deep, enveloping and serene atmosphere, while the aged gold appears with restraint and an almost mineral luminosity. The gold does not simply seem to sit on top of the colour; it appears to emerge from within the material itself, as though the passage of time had gradually left its traces across the surface.

At the centre of the composition, a dense horizontal band acts as a true threshold — a point of transition between two different states of matter and energy. Above it, curved marks create a sensation of movement suspended in space; below, circular and flowing gestures continue that movement, adding depth and continuity.

Texture plays a fundamental role in the work. Incisions, grooves and variations in relief interact differently with the light across the surface.

This is a work that changes significantly from one lighting environment to another. Under soft, frontal light it can appear quieter, deeper and more contemplative. When illuminated from the side or exposed to changing light, the relief becomes much more pronounced and the aged gold emerges with an entirely different intensity.

Emerald Threshold speaks of time, transformation and energy. It is a work about that moment of transition between one state and another, between what is immediately visible and what remains hidden within the material.

Its presence is sophisticated and powerful, yet at the same time serene. It does not need to dominate the space: it gradually transforms it as the light surrounding it changes.

IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION: when receiving the artwork, I strongly recommend fully opening and unpacking it before deciding where to display it. As the artwork is presented rolled on cotton canvas, it is particularly important to allow it to fully reveal itself in the intended space and to observe it under different lighting conditions before choosing its final position.

This recommendation is especially important for Emerald Threshold, because its appearance can change remarkably depending on the source, intensity and direction of the light.

For conservation, avoid direct contact with the textured surface. Dust should be removed gently using a soft, dry method, without water, cleaning products or abrasive materials.
