This painting belongs to my collection 'Landscapes of emerging universes', a series of large-format canvases and paper works from 2025. They are abstract landscapes that explore the vastness of inner universes, in resonance with outer galaxies.
My references are abstract painters such as Pollock, Kandinski or Miró, as well as the photographs of outer space published by NASA.
My training is more literary than artistic, and there is a stylistic device that has always fascinated me: synecdoche. It is the extended or restricted use of words, taking the whole for the part or the part for the whole. I apply this device to my pictorial creation, thinking that human beings, in their smallness, contain an infinitesimal part of the infinite expansion of galaxies.
The landscapes are accompanied by words taken from songs and poems. In this case, the title is taken from a song by Einstürzende Neubauten.

OVER DE KUNSTENAAR
Jaume Muñoz (Barcelona, 1977) is dichter, schilder en fotograaf.
In zijn werk onderzoekt hij de expressieve mogelijkheden van abstract schilderen en plaatst hij zichzelf op het kruispunt van chaos en orde. Zijn schilderproces is gebaseerd op vrij abstracte improvisatie.
Hij begon met schilderen toen hij in Egypte woonde, in de open schilderworkshops bij de Townhouse Gallery, Cairo. Daar hield hij zijn eerste tentoonstellingen in 2007.
Jarenlang volgde hij de zomerse kunstresidentie en veilingen bij de Association Saint Henri, Castelnaudary (Frankrijk).
Hij heeft deelgenomen aan talrijke solo- en groepstentoonstellingen in Caïro, Berlijn, Revel, Milaan en Barcelona.
