ARTISTIEKE LOOPBAAN

Alexander Lecusay Estrada, geboren op 22 januari 1966 in Las Tunas, Cuba, is een plastisch kunstenaar, afgestudeerd aan de Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), Cuba, in 1984. Hij is lid van de Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) en heeft gediend als tekenleraar aan de Academia Profesional de Artes Plásticas. Momenteel woont hij in Valencia, Spanje, waar hij werkt als onafhankelijke kunstenaar.
Zijn artistieke loopbaan begon in de jaren tachtig en omvat meerdere decennia van voortdurende deelname aan de plastische kunsten, met presentaties in groepstentoonstellingen, provinciale en nationale salons, internationale tentoonstellingen en solo-exposities.
Vanaf zijn vroege vormingsjaren heeft hij deelgenomen aan belangrijke salons en tentoonstellingen in Cuba, waaronder het Salón Nacional de Artes Plásticas, het Salón de Tesis, het Salón Nacional de Premiados, verschillende edities van La Plástica en Abril, Mi Ciudad en la Plástica, Guernica, het Salón Nacional Regino Botti, het Salón Internacional de la Décima Mural, UNEAC-salons en andere nationale en regionale evenementen.
Daarnaast heeft hij een solo-expositie-pad ontwikkeld, waaronder “Verso y Reverso de lo Vital”, “Sin Ir Más Lejos”, “Retrospectiva” en “Homenaje”, gepresenteerd in verschillende culturele instellingen in Cuba.
Zijn professionele activiteit omvat ook het illustreren van boeken en publicaties, evenals bijdragen aan culturele projecten. Onder de in zijn carrière gedocumenteerde werken zijn de illustraties van Sueños por el aire van Adriano González; Barco amarillo van Aleido Rodríguez Cabrera; en Memorias renacidas van Pablo Armando Fernández. Eveneens heeft hij erkenning ontvangen voor zijn kunstwerk in boekillustraties.
Door de jaren heen heeft hij diverse prijzen en onderscheidingen behaald op salons en wedstrijden voor plastische kunst, waaronder die gerelateerd aan Plástica en Abril, Mi Ciudad en la Plástica, Guernica, Fayad Jamís en het Salón Nacional de Ilustración “Décima Mural”. Een van de onderscheidingen is de Premio a la Creación Provincial in 2008 en de erkenning als “Mejor Artista de la Plástica UNEAC” in 2009.
Zijn loopbaan omvat tevens deelname aan internationale projecten en exposities, waaronder Tropenzauber in Bremen, Duitsland; Libresca in Quito, Ecuador; en een internationale tentoonstelling voor digitale kunst in Mexico, naast andere culturele activiteiten en projecten.
Zijn werk is geplaatst in verschillende instellingen en maakt deel uit van privé- en institutionele collecties in Cuba, Spanje, Italië, Duitsland, Ecuador, Argentinië en de Verenigde Staten. Ook heeft hij deelgenomen aan het muurschilderproject Cuba-España “Corazones por Cuba”.
In de afgelopen jaren heeft hij zijn artistieke activiteit voortgezet door deelname aan exposities en projecten met betrekking tot schilderkunst en abstracte kunst, waaronder de Eerste Salon voor Abstracte Kunst Díaz Peláez, A Puro Color, Selfie, Mayo Abstracto en verschillende groepstentoonstellingen verbonden aan de UNEAC.
Zijn carrière combineert schilderkunst, tekening en illustratie, samen met onderwijs en voortdurende deelname aan projecten, tentoonstellingen en activiteiten in de plastische kunsten.
