Bougainvillea is an exploration of abundance, memory, and the emotional intensity of nature. The painting is dominated by an expansive mass of crimson, magenta, pink, and violet, allowing the flowering tree to become more than a botanical subject—it becomes an atmosphere, almost a landscape in itself.
I was drawn to the way bougainvillea can overwhelm architecture and space, growing freely across walls and boundaries. In the painting, the branches and glimpses of the structure beneath the flowers provide a sense of place, while the dense, gestural application of color resists precise description. The flowers move between representation and abstraction: from a distance they form the recognizable silhouette of a tree, while up close they dissolve into individual marks, layers, and fragments of color.
The intense blue of the sky creates a deliberate contrast with the warmth of the bougainvillea. Rather than reproducing natural color literally, I use saturation to communicate the heightened sensation of encountering the plant in full bloom—the brightness, heat, and almost excessive beauty of the moment.
At its core, Bougainvillea is about the tension between permanence and transience. Architecture suggests stability, while the flowering tree represents something seasonal, unruly, and constantly changing. By allowing the bougainvillea to dominate the composition, I wanted nature to feel larger than its surroundings: exuberant, immersive, and briefly unstoppable.

The artwork will be shipped as a rolled, unstretched canvas for safe delivery. Packaged in tube box and wrapped properly.
Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer. Minor waves or creases may be visible upon arrival, which is completely normal for rolled canvas. These will disappear once the canvas is stretched or framed by a professional framer.
All my shipments will be made through DPD, GLS, DHL EXPRESS or a similar company , always trying to guarantee the safety, care and efficient delivery of the work. However, delays that may occur in the case of goods are beyond my control; I will always be attentive to tracking the shipment and any incident that may arise, being at the customer's disposal to provide appropriate assistance and support.
