The Macallan Edition No.6
Het is de zesde – en laatste – uitgave in The Macallan Edition-serie! Macallan-whiskymaker Steven Bremner haalde inspiratie uit het schilderachtige landschap van de distilleerderij, in het bijzonder de rivier de Spey, om deze expression te creëren. Amerikaanse en Europese eikenhouten vaten zijn gekozen voor Edition No.6, en zij hebben een schat aan dikke toffee, kruidige gember en verse fruittonen meegenomen.
Proefnotitie door The Chaps at Master of Malt
Neus
Gekaramelliseerde dadels, latte getooid met een snuifje kaneel en nootmuskaat, een vleugje ceder.
In de mond
Meer toffee en gedroogde vruchten, nu met verse sinaasappel en peer als ondersteuning. Een vleugje haverbisquit en chocolade zit er ook bij.
Finish
Chocolade bouwt op de finish, naast citrus, abrikoos en allspice (piment).
