ENGLISH CHESTERFIELD SOFA — ANILINE LEATHER — 1950s–1960s

Authentic vintage English Chesterfield sofa, dating from approximately the 1950s–1960s.

A particularly characterful example upholstered in ANILINE LEATHER, distinguished by its natural surface, rich colour variations and beautiful aged appearance. Over many decades, the leather has developed a strong and authentic patina, with visible rubbing, scratches, craquelure and colour variations consistent with its age and use.

The sofa features the classic Chesterfield design with deep button tufting, rolled arms and traditional decorative nailhead trim.

Importantly, it retains its traditional sprung construction, providing the characteristic support associated with well-made English Chesterfield furniture of this period. The internal frame is solid and remains in good condition.

The sofa is also fitted with caster wheels, a characteristic and practical detail of traditional English upholstered furniture.
