DESFORMA – LORA
One-of-a-Kind Sculptural Designer Sofa
Designer: Kęstutis Špoka
Brand: Desforma
Country of origin: Lithuania
Production: One-of-a-kind design, only one example manufactured
Description
LORA is a unique sculptural sofa designed by Lithuanian furniture designer Kęstutis Špoka, the creator of Desforma furniture.
The sofa is distinguished by its dramatic curved silhouette, tall outward-sweeping armrests, gently curved seating area and expressive architectural proportions.
The original design was conceived many years ago as an experimental furniture project. Its unconventional form presented a challenge in achieving stability. Years later, the designer developed specially adapted metal supports, making it possible to complete the original concept.
The sofa was subsequently upholstered in richly patterned golden fabric and complemented by contrasting blue decorative cushions.
Only one example of LORA was ever produced, making it a distinctive piece of Lithuanian furniture design.
Its sculptural character makes it particularly suitable for an elegant private residence, a boutique hotel, a spacious lounge or a carefully curated interior.
