Beautiful mask of the Ovimbundu people living in Angola.
Everything is special at this mask: the mouth with filed teeth, the unusual nose, the dotted scarifications, the fantastic hairdo, the fine earrings, the halfegg shaped Ovimbundu ears.
Fine brown patina caused by many years of use and age.
Material: wood, beads, cowry shells, metal earrings with beads of lapis lazula, fibres, raffia, bark, button, coin.
The mask is in my personal Dutch collection for many years.
