Among the 18 parts and 54 volumes of the Iroha Bunko series, this volume avoids the dramatic scenes of Chushingura, instead collecting episodes that explore human emotions—such as the life of a ronin and parting from family. It depicts the everyday dramas emblematic of Shunsui's writing style. This set, reprinting medieval tales during the Meiji period, was treasured as a rarity at the time. It is highly valued for preserving its woodblock illustrations and for having both Volumes 11 and 12 complete.
