Tibetan esoteric Buddhism. Traditionally shown in tantric unity with his consort Samantabhadri. As depicted in this small gold-plated bronze, they are shown in the sacred union of Yab-Yum. Her body bending and meeting the piercing gaze of Samantabhadra, whose arms are wrapped around her and meeting each other in dhyana mudra. As the embodiment of mercy, he embraces her transcendent wisdom.
