The history of Junghans began in 1861 in Schramberg, located in Germany’s Black Forest, when Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law founded the company. The brand quickly became one of the key players in German watchmaking, thanks to its commitment to precision and continuous innovation. In 1890, the iconic 8-pointed star logo was registered, becoming a symbol of quality and reliability. By the early 20th century, Junghans had grown into the largest watch manufacturer in the world, producing millions of timepieces annually. From the 1930s onwards, mechanical movements became a central focus, and by the 1950s Junghans had become one of Germany’s leading chronometer manufacturers.
