Antique German Wall Regulator - Kienzle "Hurra!" - Art Nouveau Era (c. 1910-1920) - In Working Condition
Offered for auction is a high-quality example of German horological craftsmanship: an authentic Kienzle pendulum wall clock (Regulator) from the early 20th century (circa 1910–1920). This timepiece is a remarkable survivor of the Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) period.
Manufacturer: Kienzle Uhrenfabriken (Schwenningen, Germany).
Movement: Original 8-day mechanical brass movement, spring-driven. The backplate is factory-stamped with technical specifications: "43 cm" (pendulum length) and "99.5" (beats per minute), ensuring its historical accuracy.
Chime System: Features the rare and sought-after "Hurra!" trademarked gong. This specific gong base was patented by Kienzle, known for its deep, clear, and resonant acoustic tone. The ornate cast iron base displays the iconic Kienzle winged-clock logo.
Case: The wooden case is well-preserved and in good condition, showing a beautiful natural grain and patina. It retains its structural integrity without significant damage or signs of woodworm.
Functionality: The clock is in full working order, both for timekeeping and the striking mechanism (chimes on the hour and half-hour).
Key: The winding key is included in the sale.
Pendulum: Comes with its original brass pendulum, matching the 43 cm specification for the movement.
This Kienzle "Hurra!" model is highly appreciated by enthusiasts for its reliability and its distinctive Art Nouveau aesthetics. It is a complete, original set—movement, gong, and case—making it a perfect addition to any antique collection or a statement decor piece.
