Coffre rectangulaire en chêne massif, probablement début XXe, style rustique ou de voyage domestique. Construction traditionnelle à tenons et mortaises, couvercle à charnières apparentes, ferrures en fer forgé noirci (coins renforcés par des équerres triangulaires rivetées, poignée arquée centrale sur le devant, fermoir à boucle pivotante avec moraillon). Intérieur brut non doublé, traces d’usage anciennes visibles sur le fond. Provenance : collection privée belge.
État : très bon pour son âge, bois sain sans fentes structurelles ni vers, pas de déformation majeure ni de casse, ferrures intactes sans rouille active (patine naturelle et oxydation superficielle typique), couvercle ferme bien sans jeu excessif, surfaces avec traces d’usure, rayures anciennes, marques de manipulation et patine foncée uniforme, aucune restauration récente visible ni collage. Poids : 7200 g. Dimensions : 30,5 cm x 30,5 cm x 30,5 cm (longueur x largeur x hauteur).

Antique solid oak chest with wrought iron fittings
Rectangular chest in solid oak, likely 19th century or early 20th century, rustic or domestic travel style. Traditional mortise-and-tenon construction, hinged lid, blackened wrought iron fittings (triangular corner reinforcements riveted, central arched handle on front, pivoting latch with hasp). Raw unfinished interior, visible old usage marks on bottom. Provenance: private Belgian collection.
Condition: very good for its age, sound wood without structural cracks or worm damage, no major warping or breaks, fittings intact without active rust (natural patina and superficial oxidation typical), lid closes properly without excessive play, surfaces with wear traces, old scratches, handling marks and uniform dark patina, no recent restoration visible or gluing.
