Decorative plate made by the renowned German manufacturer WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). This piece is a striking example of the Art Nouveau style (also known as Jugendstil), and according to available catalogs it is probably model 190a created around 1900 - 1906. Motif: The central relief depicts a young woman (girl) with long, wavy hair playing the lyre. Decoration: The edge of the plate is octagonal in shape with slotted (open) work depicting stylized leaves and horse chestnut fruits. Material: It is made of a silver-plated alloy (often based on tin or brass), which is typical of WMF items from that period. Diameter: 31 cm
