Lot Description
An unmissable opportunity for collectors and lovers of peated single malts. This exclusive lot offers a "vertical" of five highly sought-after annual releases created to celebrate Ardbeg Day, continuously covering the years from 2020 to 2024. Each bottle represents a unique and bold experiment by the famous Islay distillery, exploring unconventional aging and distillation techniques.

Lot Conditions:
All 5 bottles are in Mint condition. The liquid levels are excellent (in the neck), the labels are pristine, and each bottle is accompanied by its original box, perfectly preserved with no tears, dents, or signs of wear. Meticulously stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment.

Bottle Details and Tasting Notes
1. Ardbeg Blaaack (Ardbeg Day 2020 Release) New Zealand Pinot Noir Casks
Capacity / ABV: 70cl / 46% Vol.

Features: Created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, this whisky marries Ardbeg's peaty spirit with Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Summer fruit pudding, bitter cherry, soot, and a touch of fragrant wood smoke.

Palate: A velvety mouthfeel reveals notes of dark cherries, bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, and the unmistakable Ardbeg peat.

Finish: Long and lingering, with sweet smoke and red fruits.

2. Ardbeg Scorch (Ardbeg Day 2021 Release) Heavily Charred Ex-Bourbon Casks
Capacity / ABV: 70cl / 46% Vol.

Features: A tribute to the mythological dragon of Islay. Matured in heavily charred American oak ex-bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Intense smoke, soot, hints of aniseed, grilled meat, and a classic note of pine and resin.

Palate: Oily and spicy. Explosions of sweet liquorice, throat lozenges, tar, and a deep, dry wood smoke.

Finish: A long trail of lingering smoke and notes of smoked meat.

3. Ardbeg Ardcore (Ardbeg Day 2022 Release) Roasted Black Malt & Ex-Bourbon
Capacity / ABV: 70cl / 46% Vol.

Features: The "Punk" of the distillery. Distilled using roasted black malt, a very rare practice that imparts incredibly dark and edgy notes.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Bitter cocoa, nougat, burning charcoal, and pungent smoke, with a hint of lime and aromatic herbs.

Palate: Spicy and intense. Dark chocolate, aniseed, roasted peanuts, burnt caramel, and cigar ash.

Finish: Persistent, driven by notes of peppermint, molasses, and an earthy smoke.

4. Ardbeg Heavy Vapours (Ardbeg Day 2023 Release) Distilled without Purifier / Ex-Bourbon
Capacity / ABV: 70cl / 46% Vol.

Features: An extreme experiment where Ardbeg's legendary still purifier was removed during distillation, capturing the heaviest and most untamed vapours.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Dense smoke, creosote, fresh asphalt, sweet cream, and a pungent touch of peppermint.

Palate: Massive structure. Waves of bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, cardamom, eucalyptus, and lingering earthy peat.

Finish: Long and enveloping, with lingering coal smoke and warm spices.

5. Ardbeg Spectacular (Ardbeg Day 2024 Release) Port Wine Casks & Ex-Bourbon
Capacity / ABV: 70cl / 46% Vol.

Features: The first-ever Ardbeg release to be matured in rare Port wine casks, married with classic ex-bourbon casks, creating a theatrical contrast between smoke and sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Candied fruit, incense, lavender, aromatic peat smoke, and a touch of toasted pecans.

Palate: Viscous and rich. A spectacular mix of dark chocolate, mint, sweet tar, dark berries, and wood smoke.

Finish: Complex and prolonged, with notes of salted caramel, dark berries, and Ardbeg's classic smoky signature.
