At the top of the composition is a striking mascaron (depicting Chronos or a mythological deity), symbolizing the inexorable passage of time. The case is gilded, preserving its noble luster. Dial and Hands: Gilded metal dial with a clear guilloche pattern in the center. Roman numerals are applied to the cartouches. Classic openwork "Louis XV" hands emphasize the aristocratic appearance of the piece. Two winding holes (running and striking) are provided.
