Ducretet-Thomson L135 rörradio – Frankrike, 1952
In excellent working condition – No reserve
A striking and authentic example of French mid-century radio design, this Bakelite Ducretet-Thomson L135 from 1952 embodies both technical sophistication and refined aesthetics. Executed in a warm bordeaux bakelite cabinet with elegant golden accents and a richly textured woven speaker cloth, this model is a true eye-catcher and a highly collectible piece for enthusiasts of early post-war electronics.
The sculptural front grille, combined with the horizontal transparent tuning scale featuring European station names, reflects the optimistic design language of the early 1950s. The presence of the iconic “magic eye” tuning indicator adds both visual charm and technical interest, enhancing the authentic period experience.
Historical context
Ducretet-Thomson, originating from the pioneering work of Eugène Adrien Ducretet, was one of France’s leading radio manufacturers in the first half of the 20th century. By the 1950s, the company had established itself as a producer of high-quality domestic receivers under the renowned “La Voix du Monde” line. The L135 is a representative model from this era, combining reliable superheterodyne technology with refined industrial design, bridging pre-war craftsmanship and modern consumer electronics.
