Cambus was a distillery in the Scottish Lowlands that specialised in the production of grain whisky. Closed in 1993, the distillery now functions as a warehouse for barrels and bottling. Single grain whiskies from this distillery have become rare these days, especially when they are considered original bottlings. Cambus 40 Jahre matured from 1975 to 2016 in former bourbon barrels. Bottled in natural cask strength of a strong 52.7 vol. % alcohol, limited to 1,812 bottles worldwide. Aroma: Ripe fruit notes with striking sweetness, aromatic spices, beeswax, toffee and elegant oak. Taste: Sweet with vanilla and caramel, aromatic spicy notes, ginger, ripe apples, almonds and dry pinewood.
