Napoleon III period (arround 1870th), French Wedding Crown Display Cushion/Stand, used either during the ceremony to display the wedding bands, or after to hold the bride's headpiece. Gilted decoration surrounded velvet dark blue pillow, on a black wooden base. Decorated with gilt leaves, flowers, birds. Placed prominently in the formal dining room, it held the Bride's Crown, or Tiara, the bride & groom chose items. The Bird: symbol of Love; Leaves: longevity of the Marriage Union; Grapes: symbol of abundance;, Nest is a wish for abundant and strong offspring. Nowerdays could be used as a gift for marriage, collectible piece, decorative element, stand for the juwelry. The object is in whole good, vintage condition. One bird (sitting near the nest) is not properly fixed, so it could fall down during the transportation. Fixing it back will not be very difficult!
