Studiegrupp av sju små burkar - Lergods - Thailand - 14:e till 17:e århundradet

A Study Group of Seven Small Jarlets, Southeast Asia (Possibly Thailand and China), 14th–17th Century A charming and varied study set of seven small jarlets, comprising three wider-bodied examples, three bottle-shaped jars, and one cylindrical form. All pieces are covered in attractive greenish-brown tinted glazes typical of regional production. During the 14th century, the royal cities of Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai (later known as Sawankhalok) in north-central Thailand formed one of the largest ceramic-producing centres in Southeast Asia. Jarlets of this type—often glazed in iron-brown or greenish tones—were widely traded and have been excavated across the Philippines, Java, Sulawesi, and Japan. In the Indonesian archipelago, they frequently served ritual functions as burial goods or pusaka (heirlooms), while in Japan they found a place within the tea ceremony tradition. The jarlet have old collection and price labels. Dimensions: Largest jarlet: 7.5 × 11 cm Smallest jarlet: 5.5 × 5.5 cm Condition: Overall in good condition. One jarlet has a restored mouth; one green-glazed jar has cracks to the base. Two jarlet have some paper wrapping attached. All jarlets have some dirt and wear consistent with age. Please examine the images carefully. Small imperfections and kiln-firing flaws are not always described in detail. The written condition report is indicative only; the photographs provide the definitive and binding description of the item’s condition. Shipping: The items will be securely packaged and shipped with insurance. Stand not included.
