Biografia: 

Nato a Varese nel 1905, frequentò la Scuola d’Arte di Monza sotto la guida di Arturo Martini, Pio Semeghini e Marino Marini. Le sue prime sperimentazioni vertevano verso una pittura espressionista, avente come tema la povertà delle campagne nel dopoguerra, per poi virare tra i anni Quaranta e Cinquanta ad un’inflessione più neocubista. Famosi furono i suoi cicli dedicati alle donne dove la figura femminile veniva ripresa in pose arcaicizzanti e quelli dedicati ai paesaggi dove le vedute veneziane venivano accese da vivaci cromie.
