Artist: Hōun (峰雲) Material: Cast metal (bronze or bronze alloy) with patinated finish Origin: Japan – Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture Period: Shōwa period (20th century) Condition: Very good condition, complete with original wooden storage box. ⸻ A refined Takaoka bronze vase by the artist Hōun (峰雲), created within the tradition of Japanese metal craftsmanship. The vase is characterized by its softly rounded, well-balanced form and a richly textured marbled surface in deep green and reddish-brown tones. These layered colours are achieved through controlled patination techniques typical of high-quality Takaoka bronze work, producing subtle variations that shift gently under changing light. The restrained satin finish enhances the depth of the surface while maintaining an elegant and dignified presence. The piece is signed “峰雲 (Hōun)” on the base and comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako 共箱). In addition, an original informational leaflet related to Takaoka bronze flower vessels is included, indicating that the work was distributed and preserved as a Takaoka bronze object.
