*Radiance Level Disclaimer*
At GeoPulse Minerals, we use our own internal classification system to evaluate the light performance of Mexican Fire Opals.
This system is based exclusively on the intensity, stability and chromatic strength of the fire, play of colour, displayed by each specimen, as follows:
Radiance Level I – Soft Glow
Gentle internal light with delicate colour movement.
Radiance Level II – Bright Glow
Noticeable radiance with stable brightness and defined flashes.
Radiance Level III – Intense Radiance
Strong, vivid fire with powerful colour response from multiple angles.
Radiance Level IV – Flame Radiance
Top tier. Maximum intensity, highly saturated flame like play of colour and exceptional optical behaviour.
This scale allows collectors to immediately understand the visual strength and rarity category of each opal we present.

Radiance Level III - *INTENSE RADIANCE*
Description:
This Mexican Fire Opal carries the feeling of a sealed ember preserved inside stone. At first glance, it reads as a compact, earthy form with a natural outer skin, but the moment the eye finds its opening, the specimen changes entirely. Within that central window, the opal reveals a living interior a chamber of warm translucency where fire appears to gather, deepen, and hold its breath.
Under frontal light, the colour settles into rich reds and molten oranges that seem to rise from within rather than sit on the surface. The body shows a natural contrast between the raw exterior and the luminous core, creating depth that feels architectural, almost cavernous, as if the stone has been sculpted by heat and pressure into a small geological sanctuary. The glow is concentrated and intentional, framed by mineral textures that make the fire feel even more vivid by comparison.
When direct light is introduced from behind, the opal becomes its own lantern. The inner chamber ignites, and what was previously contained turns radiant not as a flat brightness, but as layered luminosity. The cavity floods with honeyed amber and volcanic orange, while deeper red zones intensify around the edges, giving the impression of heat pooling in pockets and corridors. It is a transformation that feels elemental and intimate, like seeing the stone return briefly to its origin.
This specimen does not rely on surface spectacle. Its strength is the way it holds light, shapes it, and releases it from within an opal that invites you to look through it, not just at it, and to discover a fire that feels real because it appears to have a place to live inside the stone.

Collector’s Interest:
Mexican Fire Opals with a naturally formed internal cavity and this level of light transmission are increasingly difficult to encounter. The combination of intense radiance, structural depth and controlled fire behaviour places this specimen in a category favoured by collectors who value geological storytelling as much as chromatic strength. Rather than a surface driven display, this opal offers an internal narrative, making it particularly appealing to advanced collectors seeking distinctive and character rich pieces.
Lapidary Interest:
Although already highly compelling as a collector specimen, this opal also holds interest for specialised lapidary applications. Any potential use would require open backed designs that prioritise transmitted light, allowing the internal chamber to function as the focal point. That said, the integrity and expressive power of the natural structure strongly favour preservation in its current form, where its full optical behaviour can be appreciated without compromise.

Photography and transparency:
All photos were taken under controlled light conditions, carefully selected to reproduce the most accurate natural colour of each specimen. No filters, colour enhancement, or artificial saturation were applied. The lighting setup uses a calibrated 5500K light source, which replicates neutral daylight and reveals the true tones and clarity of the mineral. Under weaker or more yellow indoor lighting, colours may appear slightly different, which is normal and expected. The purpose of this setup is to present each specimen exactly as it appears in balanced natural daylight, allowing buyers to appreciate its authentic colour and lustre without distortion.
Identification and ethics:
All specimens offered are guaranteed natural and as described. Their origin and mineral identification are provided with the most accurate and reliable information available. Every effort is made to ensure that each piece is presented with full transparency, avoiding any misleading details regarding its nature, treatment, or provenance.
Customs and import taxes:
Any customs duties, import fees, or local taxes applied by the destination country are entirely the responsibility of the winning bidder. These charges are not included in the auction price or shipping cost and are determined by the buyer’s local authorities.
Guarantee and resolution:
