NWA Pallasite Tata Stein- Eisen- Meteorit - 9.71 g
The Northwest Africa (NWA) Tata pallasite is a highly sought-after stony-iron meteorite, discovered in the Tata region of Morocco, part of the Sahara Desert—an environment well known for preserving meteorites in excellent condition.
This meteorite belongs to the pallasite group, one of the most visually spectacular and rare meteorite types. It is composed of a nickel–iron metal matrix embedded with abundant olivine (peridot) crystals, which often display attractive green to yellow hues and become translucent when cut and polished.
NWA Tata pallasites are prized for their aesthetic beauty, scientific importance, and excellent metal–olivine contrast, making them ideal specimens for collectors, museums, and educational displays. They are believed to originate from the core–mantle boundary of a differentiated asteroid, offering a direct glimpse into the internal structure of early planetary bodies.
- Weight: 9.71 grams.
