Hagi Ware Teeschalen - Set aus 5 (Hagi no Shichihenge) - Porzellan - Hirose Tanga (廣瀬淡雅) - Japan - 20. Jahrhundert

Hagi Ware Tea Bowls - Set of 5 (Hagi no Shichihenge) Potter: Hirose Tanga (廣瀬淡雅) Kiln: Tenhōzan Kiln (天鵬山窯) Style: Hagi Ware (萩焼) Condition: Excellent, like new, in original signed wooden box (Tomobako). Includes two original papers (history/care instructions). Description A magnificent set of five (5) Japanese tea or sake cups (guinomi/chawan/yunomi style) crafted by the highly regarded Hagi ware potter Hirose Tanga (廣瀬淡雅) from the Tenhōzan Kiln (天鵬山窯). This set beautifully exemplifies the famous characteristic of Hagi ware known as "Hagi no Shichihenge" (萩の七変化), or the "Seven Changes of Hagi." This term describes how the color of the tea bowls gradually changes over time as tea or sake seeps into the porous, soft clay and glaze, creating a unique, darkening patina and enhancing the wabi-sabi aesthetic. The cups display various subtle, naturalistic color gradations—ranging from soft cream and pale blue-grey to warm peach and pinkish-red—indicative of a masterful firing technique. The glazes feature fine crazing (crackles) which will absorb moisture and change hue with use, making each cup a living piece of art. The unglazed footring of each cup shows the characteristic fine-grained, light-colored Hagi clay. The base of at least one cup is clearly stamped with the potter's mark (seal), visible in the close-up image. The set comes complete with its original presentation box, a wooden Tomobako (signed box), which bears the inscription of the kiln name and style. A measuring tape is included in one photo to indicate size reference; the cups range in diameter from approximately 6.5 cm to 9.5 cm and in height up to approximately 6.0 cm. This is a beautiful and collectible set perfect for tea, sake, or as an exquisite display piece. Shipping Information: The item will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number. It will be shipped from Japan. Customs duties and other fees are the responsibility of the customer.
