Finanzen Amulett - Replik ägyptischer Amulett (Ohne mindestpreis)

Faience Amulet of a Human figure dominating a Nile crocodile Museum-Quality Egyptian Replica (No Reserve) it was bought in 1960-1970 in USS as a Grand Tour Item Length: 5 cm Width: 2 cm Weight: 30 g Type: High-quality museum-style replica inspired by ancient Egyptian amulets Material: Egyptian faience — glazed non-clay ceramic, blue in tone, with intentionally applied aged patina to replicate archaeological surface appearance Description: This amulet depicts a human figure dominating a crocodile, a powerful symbol of mastery over chaos and dangerous forces in ancient Egyptian belief. In Egyptian religion, crocodiles were considered sacred manifestations of the god Sobek, and were sometimes kept in temple pools, fed and cared for by priests as living divine beings. Their worship reflected both reverence for the Nile’s life-giving waters and the desire for protection and fertility, with crocodiles often mummified as votive offerings upon death The surface displays a convincing turquoise glaze with controlled artificial wear, closely emulating the visual character of excavated faience objects held in museum collections. Condition: Very good overall condition. Minor simulated age wear visible along the edges and glaze, consistent with a premium replica crafted for display and study purposes. Date: Modern replica inspired by the Third Intermediate to Late Period (21st–26th Dynasty, ca. 1070–525 BCE) Collector’s Note Although a modern piece, this museum-quality replica is an excellent and respectable addition to any collection. It is particularly well suited for: -Antiquities collectors seeking high-end display pieces -Museum-style or educational collections -Ethical collecting environments where original artifacts are complemented by accurate replicas Even for experienced antiquities collectors, this is a premium replica that enhances a collection both visually and curatorially.
