NO RESERVE - FINE PAIR OF ANTIQUE CHINESE SCHOLAR TABLE SCREENS WITH PRECIOUS STONES, HxW: 31x20.5CM, LATE QING. Nicely carved and colourful serpentine with hardstone and precious stones inlays (agate, opaline) on wooden screens featuring dormouses among vine leaves. A precise & beautiful antique work depicting a charming and colurful scene for a pair of scholar objects in great condition. Information Art / country: Asian Art, Vietnam / China. Type: Table screens Period: Late Qing. Heights: 31 cm / 12.2". Widths: 20 cm / 7.8". Weight: 0.78 + 0.8 Kg = 1.58 Kg in total. Materials: serpentine, hardstone, carnelian, agate, wood. Provenance: Private collection, South of France. Condition: After very carefull checks under natural and UV lights, perfectly stable, some expected wears, and light abrasion all commensurate with age and period (please check visuals).
