Coins with the same obverse were issued by various eurozone countries. Helmut Andex Lingering depicted a globe with the currency symbol superimposed on it. The planet features buildings and people. The upper part bears the issuer's designation, NEDERLAND (NETHERLANDS), and the lower part bears the year of issue, 2012. Designer: Bruno Ninaber van Eyben. Reverse of the original coin: 2 EURO against a map of Europe. On the outer edge are six stars and six vertical lines above the inscription EURO, and six stars and six vertical lines below the inscription EURO. General Description: Destructive Coin An irregularity resulting from die wear. The coin displays metal dents in the form of longitudinal lines. During minting, high dynamic loads occur on the dies, sometimes causing damage in the form of cracks or even chips. Friction between the surfaces of the dies and the coin blank causes gradual wear of the dies. Contrary to popular belief, mint destructive coinage is highly sought after by collectors because its uniqueness makes it interesting and often very valuable, due to its rarity and exceptionality. The obverse of this coin: The central ring is broken, with visible internal cracks. Additionally, three wide internal grooves in an oval shape run through the center and edge of the coin, struck by a die on the coin's central core. All grooves and cracks were struck during the press stroke and the enormous pressure during minting. The inscription NEDERLAND at the top of the coin on the central ring is barely visible, with several letters missing. The two mintmarks issued to the right of the inscription NEDERLAND are missing. The inscription 2002-2012 at the bottom of the coin depicts a globe with buildings and people, barely visible. The 12 stars on the outer edge of the coin are damaged or missing. The 17 dots visible at the bottom of the coin, in the form of small beads, are missing. These dots are essential for visually impaired individuals who read the coin's denomination based on these dots. The coin was further expanded and changed shape during the high-pressure die strike (upper part of the coin). The reverse of this coin shows a leak in the center and outer rings. The outer edge of the coin is distorted. The complete set of 6 stars and 6 vertical lines under the EURO inscription is missing. The EURO inscription is faintly visible, and the map of Europe at the bottom is damaged and incomplete. Two deep rectangular grooves run through the coin—gutters—which were created during the minting of the coin. This coin is an interesting and unique specimen, very rare and unusual in its destruction. Highly sought after at international auctions.
