This extremely rare bronze ring dates to the Medieval Crusader period and belongs to a group of symbolic personal objects with apotropaic (protective) significance. In the medieval belief system, rings were not merely decorative but were commonly worn to protect the wearer from the evil eye, harmful intentions, and negative forces. The circular bezel features a geometric composition with a central oval, eye-like motif surrounded by symmetrical linear elements. Such designs are closely associated with evil-eye symbolism, life cycles, fertility, and cosmic balance in medieval visual language. Comparable motifs are known from protective rings and amulets used in the Eastern Mediterranean during the Crusader era. These rings were believed to safeguard the wearer from malicious gazes while promoting continuity, prosperity, and balance.
