Vintage Kaiser Porcelain Rearing Stallion
Design by Gerhard Bochmann
This striking white porcelain stallion rises powerfully on its hind legs, captured with exceptional elegance and anatomical precision. The flowing mane and tail enhance the sense of movement, while the matte bisque finish highlights every sculpted detail. The base bears the signature of sculptor G. Bochmann along with the classic Kaiser W. Germany hallmark and model number, confirming its origin from the renowned German porcelain manufactory Kaiser.
The figurine is in ideal condition — no chips, cracks, or repairs — making it a superb display piece. Its pure white aesthetic fits seamlessly into both modern and traditional interiors. It would make an excellent gift for collectors, equestrian enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates high-quality European craftsmanship.
About the Sculptor – Gerhard Bochmann
Gerhard Bochmann (born 1925 in Dresden) is a respected German sculptor and porcelain modeller known for his dynamic animal figures. He worked with several notable porcelain manufacturers, including Meissen and Kaiser. Bochmann’s works are distinguished by their expressive motion, refined proportions, and deep understanding of anatomical form — characteristics clearly evident in this dramatic rearing horse.
About Kaiser Porzellan
Kaiser Porzellan is one of Germany’s longstanding porcelain manufacturers with roots dating back to 1872, when August Alboth founded a porcelain decorating workshop in Bavaria. In the early 20th century, the company formed a partnership with the Kaiser family, eventually becoming known as Alka-Kaiser and later Kaiser-Porzellan.
By the 1970s–1980s, Kaiser became especially famous for its exquisite white bisque figurines and elegant sculptural designs. The “Kaiser W. Germany” hallmark on this piece places its production within this era, when the manufactory was at the peak of its artistic output.
