Terracotta, height approx. 5.5 cm. Elegantly modelled female figure with a classical hairstyle and braided hair, rendered with notable psychological sensitivity and refinement. A fine expression of the beauty ideal of Classical Antiquity! The head most likely belonged to a depiction of a goddess or a female worshipper (adorant). Good condition consistent with age, showing typical signs of use, minor surface irregularities, and material aging. No restorations known. Provenance: Old German private collection, Allenstein / Pomerania, formed prior to 1939. In my possession since 1980.
