Herend - Schüssel - Herend Large “Cubash” Pattern Plate – Hand Painted, c. 1980s - Porzellan

Herend Large “Cubash” Pattern Plate – Hand Painted, c. 1980s A beautiful Herend porcelain plate decorated with the richly detailed Cubash pattern, one of Herend’s most elaborate and decorative designs inspired by Far Eastern porcelain traditions. The Cubash pattern was originally created in 1862 at the request of Count Cubash, then consul in London. The design features stylised peony branches and blossoming plum twigs, combined with intricate spiral motifs and lavish 24-carat gold decoration. The finely worked border is enhanced with red bands, gilded garlands, white-petalled flowers with yellow centres, and flowing golden tendrils, all executed with exceptional precision. The entire decoration is hand painted and richly gilded, reflecting the extraordinary craftsmanship of Herend’s master painters. The Cubash pattern has remained popular to this day thanks to its refined elegance, rich ornamentation and timeless beauty. Herend porcelain has long been regarded as a symbol of quality and luxury, and the Cubash design is a perfect example of the artistic reinterpretation of Far Eastern motifs in European porcelain. Manufacturer: Herend Porcelain Manufactory, Hungary Pattern: Cubash Period: circa 1980s Hand made and hand painted porcelain with 24-carat gold decoration Dimensions: Diameter: 26.5 cm Condition: Very good condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
