Charming Chinese hand painted in the famille rose palette porcelain vase mounted as a lamp, featuring a beautiful decoration of a bird placed on a flowering branch, with a base in ebonised wood added during its transformation into a lamp. Beautifully decorated with birds amongst blossoms on front, poems on reverse. This type of vase was often made in Jingdezhen, China, and can date from the 20th century. The lamp has patterns of birds and flowers, a common theme in Chinese art and very popular on this type of porcelain.
