I am offering a Dallmeyer 8.5" (216mm) f4.5 enlarging anastigmat from my personal collection. From my research, this particular lens is from the end of the production run of the second-generation 'standard' family of enlarger lenses. "From 1945, we see a refreshed range comprising Standard Anastigmat (though still labelled on the fascia, as before, ‘Enlarging Anastigmat’) and the earlier Anastigmat rebranded as ‘Popular’" (taken from the Digital Enlarger Lens Test Archive (D.E.L.T.A)). It is a four-element lens with a single coating of vacuum-deposited magnesium fluoride onto all lens surfaces. A curiosity I haven't seen on any of my other enlarger lenses is that it is marked with its maximum aperture (f4.5) and 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x thereafter, as opposed to the standard aperture values. This enlarging lens is designed for the enlargement of 5x7" (13x18cm) negatives and plates. The lens is in surprisingly good condition considering its age. There is mild scratching and wear to the barrel paint, residue where a sticker was once attached to the lens and a ding and some abrasions to the front rim of the lens, indicating it was probably dropped at least once in its lifetime. However, the aperture adjusts smoothly and evenly, and the lens elements are largely clear and in good condition, with mostly minor dust. NBNB: But it must be noted that there are two patches where the coating has worn away on the rear element. As I never got around to constructing my large-format enlarger, I never got the chance to make use of this lens. Therefore, I cannot say how much of an impact the patches of worn coating will have and the lens is being sold as untested.
