Longines - Cal. 12.68Z - Ohne mindestpreis - 4915 - Herren - 1953

Elegant 1950s Longines dress watch featuring the celebrated caliber 12.68Z movement. This piece showcases a stunning glossy black dial with gilt applied Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. The 12.68Z is one of Longines’ finest manually wound calibers from this era, known for reliability and chronometric-grade accuracy potential. The 37mm case size is notably large for a 1950s Longines, when most dress watches measured 33-35mm, making this piece wear perfect for modern use. Black dials were also produced in far smaller numbers than the typical silver or champagne variants of this era, and surviving examples in this condition are increasingly scarce on the market. CONDITION Case & Crystal: - Stainless steel case retains good definition on the lugs with only light scratches from normal wear. No significant dings or dents visible. - Caseback interior shows typical tool marks from previous openings but the Longines engravings remain crisp and fully legible. - Acrylic crystal has scattered light scratches that could be polished out if desired, though they don't significantly impair dial legibility. Dial, Hands & Movement: - Dial has been repainted to a deep glossy finish and no visible damage, lifting, or corrosion. - Applied gilt numerals are secure with attractive warm patina on the luminous plots. - Hands show matching patina to the dial indices, suggesting they are original to the watch. - Caliber 12.68Z movement is visually clean with no obvious signs of rust or damage. Timegrapher readings show healthy amplitude and a gain of about 20 seconds per day (more than acceptable for a watch of this vintage). Case size: 37mm excluding crown Lug to lug: 46mm Thickness: 10mm Lug width: 19mm Strap length: 18.5cm total Fitted with brand new glossy black leather strap. No box or papers. *** Cyan Collectibles is collector-run and based in Singapore.
All watches are carefully and securely packed before being shipped, insured and tracked.
For the standard shipping fee charged, most watches will be shipped by global courier FedEx or its equivalent. In rare instances when this is not possible, shipping will be international registered parcel post with limited tracking.

Do note that your country of residence may impose customs and import duties.
Handling charges levied by couriers for customs processing - usually minor - will be the responsibility of the buyer. Shipments to the US have become increasingly problematic and slow following the Trump administration’s uneven application of new import restrictions. Expect delays and additional shipping costs. Please examine the photos before bidding, as they form an integral part of the description. Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
