Set of ten Chinese inside‑painted glass snuff bottles – China, 20th century Description Set of ten Chinese inside‑painted glass snuff bottles from the 20th century, in various shapes and colours, all finely painted on the interior with traditional subjects such as landscapes, birds and flowers, elegant ladies and court scenes. The group includes flattened oval and rectangular bottles, faceted cylindrical examples and more sculptural forms in clear, blue and orange glass, some with coloured framing. Most stoppers are in coloured hardstone‑imitation glass and nine bottles retain their original internal spoons; one bottle has a stopper without cork or spoon and rests loosely on the neck. Originating from a private collection in Italy, inherited from a former diplomat. Approximate sizes Heights from about 7 to 9 cm, widths from about 4 to 5.5 cm (see photos for proportions of each bottle). Condition Good overall condition with minor signs of age and use, such as light surface wear and tiny manufacturing irregularities. No obvious cracks or restorations visible on the bottles.
