This specimen features a plate of muscovite with a backing of cream-colored siderite crystals covered by zoned green and yellow apatite crystals with sharp glassy faces and a gemmy interior that helps the color pop without much light. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
