Artadi La Hoya wine is part of the Vinos de Parcela collection from Bodegas Artadi, which brings together diverse expressions of the Rioja Alavesa terroir. A single-varietal Tempranillo, the grapes come from a 3.6-hectare east-facing plot with deep, permeable, loamy soils, located in Elvillar de Álava and planted with vines approximately 60 years old. Vineyard practices adhere to organic farming principles. The harvest and vinification of this aged red wine were meticulous. After cold maceration for one or two days, the wine fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10-12 days, with periodic pump-overs and resupply of the cap of skins. The 2021 Artadi La Hoya red wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for two winters in French oak barrels and foudres. It was bottled in June 2024. We suggest aerating this aged red wine from Rioja Alavesa for 1 hour before serving.
